We have enjoyed our stay at Akers Ellis rental on Kiawah Island. It was wonderful to have a bathroom for each bedroom as it was 5 couples that shared the residence. Everything was very clean and stocked with enough basic supplies. We had one issue with washer and the communication with staff was very pleasant and they took care of everything. We would recommend Akers Ellis for the excellent response & communication each step of the way.
My wife and I rented 4361 Windswept Villa on Kiawah from February 15 to April 1 2021. We are currently in our 5th week of a 7 week stay. I can’t say enough about Akers Ellis and the unit we rented. Akers Ellis level of communication was excellent. Upon arrival the condo was immaculately clean and ready for our arrival. The unit was well equipped with a fully equipped kitchen with everything necessary for cooking and preparing meals . Very comfortable bed and accommodations. Location could not be better. Located about 100 yards from the beach and biking. Short 4 mile ride to the fresh field’s market for grocery shopping and restaurants. Suitable for a short stay or longer stay which we experienced. We have completely enjoyed our experience. Strongly recommend working through an Agency like Akers Ellis to take any questions about what to expect about booking a vacation rental.
This is the second time we’ve rented through Akers Ellis and both experiences were very positive. Very easy process to find a rental and complete the reservation. Contactless check in process was in place long before Covid and it works very well. The partnership with VayK Gear for bike rentals is a real advantage and this year the partnership with STEW for meals was a very pleasant addition. Would definitely recommend this business.
We rented a condo in Kiawah for the last two weeks of November and were sadly disappointed. Upon arrival we found stained rugs, a dishwasher filled with dirty/moldy dishes, mildew on the window shutters over the bed in the master bedroom, musty towels, and flaking paint falling on the dining room table. I wonder if the unit had even been cleaned after the last renters. Fortunately through another company, we were able to find another property for a week but sadly had to return to the "dump" for the second week because everything was booked for Thanksgiving week. We ended up leaving two days early because it was so unpleasant. Someone from property management agreed the place was disgusting and never should have been rented in that condition. She said, "it is in need of a total renovation and she would not let her children play on this rug." They cleaned the rugs and the unit while we were gone for a week but overall it was a massive disappointment. The rental unit should not have been in the portfolio of listings.
